We believe every child is lovingly and intentionally created by God with purpose, dignity, and potential.
Yet, for too many children living in poverty with disabilities, that God-given potential remains locked behind barriers…
They are the last to get medical care, the last to get education, and in the tough times, they are the last to get food. Children who are in desperate need of medical care and support are being overlooked and left behind.
The sad reality is, these courageous kids are dying of neglect, sickness, abuse, and loneliness. Misunderstanding, stigma, and exclusion surrounding disability pull entire families into deeper poverty. And deeper poverty makes children more vulnerable.
It’s a vicious cycle. And we believe that God is calling us to help break it.
Hope and Healing International serves children (aged 0-17) with disabilities of every kind – blindness, hearing impairment, injuries, amputations, birth malformations, learning difficulties, and mental health issues.

Hope and Healing International works in the world’s poorest communities across sub-Saharan Africa.
Sub-Saharan Africa is currently home to 16% of the global population – and accounts for 67% of people living in extreme poverty (World Bank, 2023). The region has the highest rate of children living in extreme poverty, with 40% of children living on less that $2.15 per day (UNICEF, 2023).
Definitely not. We serve all children (aged 0-17) who have a disability or who are at risk of a disability regardless of race, gender, or religion. We do this because we believe all children deserve medical care.
We never sell or give away your personal details. To help us reach more Canadians who may be interested in supporting our work, we occasionally exchange lists of select donor names and addresses with other trusted charities that share our commitment to ethical privacy practices.

We send out year-end tax receipts in February for cumulative donations greater than $10.
