Easy-Peasy Rice Crispy Easter Eggs
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 cups mini marshmallows
  • 3 cups crispy rice cereal
  • Food colouring

Note: You will need to make a separate batch of rice crispy treats for each colour of egg you want.

  1. Melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat.
  2. Add marshmallows and stir until melted and well-combined.
  3. Add a few drops of food colouring to marshmallow mixture and stir BEFORE adding crispy rice cereal.
  4. Add cereal and stir until well-coated.
  5. Allow mixture to cool just enough so you can handle it, but it’s still soft.
  6. Coat hands with a bit of butter to prevent mixture from sticking, and form into egg-shaped balls.
  7. Allow to cool.
  8. Have kids decorate the eggs with icing, candies, sprinkles—or just eat them as is.
