Taku’s ‘dream come true’ – all because of you!
The moment had arrived!
After years of patiently waiting, Taku’s dream was becoming a reality.
He is now back at school – all because of you!
Eight-year-old Taku was born with clubfeet, a condition that turned his feet inward.
When Taku was just three years old, his mother tried to get help for her boy, but she couldn’t afford the treatment. Shortly after this, Taku’s mother left… leaving him and his brother in the care of his grandma.
As the years went on, Taku’s feet twisted more, and every step became painful. “He was always walking and crying because of pains in the foot, and sometimes, I would carry him on my back,” Taku’s grandma said.
Like every grandma, Taku’s grandma tried her best to care for Taku. She went to the hospital looking for help but couldn’t afford the treatment he needed… so she took Taku back home.
Then, two weeks later, Taku’s grandma got a call that Hope and Healing International supporters were covering the cost of medical treatment for kids like Taku. Thanks to a healing hug like yours, Taku got the treatment and surgery he needed.
Taku had to focus on healing from his treatment and surgery so he couldn’t go to school yet.
“I want my foot to be fine so that I can walk well to school and show my friends that my foot is fine now.” – Taku
Taku’s dream of going to school was getting a little closer. And a year later – once his clubfeet were straight and strong – Taku was ready to start school.
When the first day of school arrived, Taku was ready to show off his feet to his classmates and his teachers! “Now he walks to school and even takes his little brother along without difficulties. I’m glad to see he’s fine now… His life has changed,” Taku’s grandma said.
Thanks to your kindness, Taku can climb the stairs at school and chase after friends in the schoolyard.
