Investing in What Lasts

Legacy Giving Donor Story: Nancy & Mick’s Legacy Story

Nancy & Mick Mcneely

For as long as they can remember, Nancy and Mick have lived by one guiding principle:

“Lay up treasures in heaven. You can’t take your earthly gifts with you.”

Inspired by Matthew 6:20-21, those words have shaped the way they live, give, and plan for the future. Investing in what lasts has always mattered to them. That’s why they chose to leave a legacy gift to Hope and Healing International – so children living with disabilities in the poorest communities can continue to receive life-changing care for generations to come.

Throughout their marriage, Nancy and Mick have built a life rooted in faith, hard work, and service. Nancy spent years caring for others, first as a waitress and later in senior care. Mick dedicated much of his career to farming.

Although they never had children of their own, they have found great joy and purpose in helping children around the world through charities they trust.

We trust Hope and Healing International and the transparency they have with the donors and the public. It gives us confidence that what is being given is truly going to the needs of children.

The photos and stories they receive help them follow each child’s journey – from being found and diagnosed, to receiving life-changing care. Seeing children’s lives transformed has been a blessing.

For Nancy and Mick, leaving a gift in their Will is all about ensuring this life-changing work continues well into the future. It’s about sharing the love of Christ with children and families who need it most.

The name says it all – Hope and Healing International. We want to be part of giving hope and knowing that even when we are no longer here, we are contributing to children being healed… that we are helping to relieve the pain and suffering of children.

Nancy and Mick hope that by living out Jesus’ love, their actions show fruit. They feel blessed to be part of this work – and part of a caring community that invests in the lives of children in need.

“It takes a village to raise a child… We want to encourage everyone who is part of this [Hope and Healing] community to keep on keeping on. Be blessed by the strength of the Lord.”
