Lorna Dueck

A long-time supporter, Lorna Dueck has travelled several times with Hope and Healing to see our life-transforming work firsthand — and has used her background in media to share these stories with the world.

With over 30 years of experience in radio and television, Lorna has explored the intersection of journalism and Christianity. For 16 years she was a commentary writer for The Globe and Mail writing on faith and public life. She founded Context TV and recently retired as the CEO of Crossroads Christian Communications and YES TV.

Through her work and trips with Hope and Healing, Lorna has seen the life-changing miracles that our supporters make possible. Travelling to Haiti after the 2010 earthquake, Lorna saw first-hand Hope and Healing’s work with children who had lost limbs in the disaster. She saw them undergo exercises and rehabilitation, being given assistive devices, being shown the care and love they needed to prevent long-term disability.

There, she also visited children struggling with disabilities at a Hope and Healing–run daycare, a place for kids to be kids in a nation full of hardship.

“Visiting Hope and Healing daycares in Haiti is the first place I saw in this disaster where children were able to laugh,” says Lorna. “I’m so glad I can be part of this work.”
